About the role
As a Data Engineer, you will play a key role in developing and maintaining the full data infrastructure behind Flowmapper, a data-driven venture focused on public transport and mobility insights. The venture us established on the Swedish market and is entering a growth journey into an international market.
You will be the primary technical owner of our data platform, working hands-on with real-time transit data, geospatial processing, and scalable analytics pipelines across multiple transit agencies in Sweden and the Netherlands.
The role combines data engineering, cloud infrastructure, and domain-specific problem solving in a venture environment with real users and real-world impact.
You will be part of the Flowmapper team which is a part of NEXT ventures.
In this role, you will for example work with
- Designing and maintaining real-time data ingestion services for GTFSRT feeds using Google Cloud Run
- Managing and building QlikSense dashboards which are consumed by customers
- Building and extending dbt based ELT pipelines in BigQuery (source → transform → expose)
- Ensuring data quality, performance, and consistency across multiagency datasets
- Processing and validating geospatial transit data for route, stop, and trip analysis
- Integrating static GTFS, real time feeds, and external scheduling systems
- Managing configuration driven pipelines across environments and regions
- Collaborating closely with product, analytics, and nontechnical stakeholders

We are looking for someone who has
Required skills
- Experience with dbt and layered ELT modelling
- Experience with Qlik Sense or similar BI tools
- Strong Python skills (async services, data processing, API integrations)
- Experience with BigQuery and Google Cloud Platform (Cloud Run, datasets, performance tuning)
- Familiarity with GTFS static and GTFS Real-time data formats
- Experience working with infrastructure as code (Terraform)
- Experience using Git / GitHub in collaborative environments
Meriting experience
- Incremental load patterns in dbt or similar data pipeline frameworks
- Geospatial analytics using BigQuery GIS functions
- Transit, mobility, or IoT related data domains
