The result: stronger market plans, better prepared decision makers, and progress for patients and the business.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Policy Intelligence: Monitor policy, legislative and regulatory developments, building trusted relationships with government, regulators, patient groups and industry stakeholders.
  • Strategic Counsel: Advise senior leaders on public policy and government affairs, translating complex issues into clear recommendations.
  • Market Response: Develop coordinated response plans across brands and functions, aligned with business priorities.
  • Communication: Lead external communications, including media relations, narrative development and spokesperson preparation, to position AstraZeneca as a credible voice on innovation and sustainable healthcare.
  • Reputation & Risk: Identify policy-related reputation risks, define mitigation plans and support leadership preparedness.
  • External Engagement: Coordinate compliant engagement with officials and regulators, including evidence-based briefings, consultations and submissions.
  • Business Integration: Embed policy and regulatory insights into brand and market plans to enable timely, informed decisions.
  • Leadership & Collaboration: Lead projects, share best practice and work cross-functionally with Commercial, Legal, Compliance and Market Access teams.
  • Capability Building: Strengthen internal networks and support the development of colleagues and specialists.
