Role Summary

As a Calibration and Optimization Engineer, you will play a key role in developing and optimizing engine calibration strategies to ensure outstanding performance, fuel efficiency, emissions compliance, and product quality.

Beyond calibration development, you will be an integral part of our VCT [Value Creation Team], contributing to planning, prioritization and execution of development activities. You will contribute to technical decision-making, roadmap development, and the continuous improvement of agile ways of working within the VCT.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop ECU calibration to optimize performance, fuel efficiency and emissions.
  • Good experience of engine management software and how calibration parameters affect system behaviour. Understanding of how software functionality supports calibration and control strategies.
  • Hands on experience with engine test bench/dyno, data acquisition & analysis, validation and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to collaborate with software, hardware and testing team to bring together the complete system view.
  • Prepare technical reports as requested to show progress and results achieved.
  • Take ownership of technical challenges and drive initiatives from concept through implementation.
  • Contribute to technical decision making, roadmap development and long term calibration strategies
  • Drive continuous improvements in processes, methods, and agile ways of working within the VCT.


Who You Are

To thrive in this role, you bring 5+ years of experience in calibration - ideally within heavy duty diesel engines along with a technical degree or equivalent practical experience. You enjoy working hands-on with engine control functions such as fuel management, torque control, and emissions, and you are comfortable both in engine test benches and real-world testing environments. You approach challenges with a curious and analytical mindset and collaborate well with the cross-functional team.

The team consists of base engine, after treatment and OBD calibration engineers.
