The Opportunity
Join Hitachi Energy as a Test Engineer within the MACH Control System integration team and contribute to ensuring the quality and reliability of advanced control systems used in critical energy infrastructure. In this role, you will work in a state‑of‑the‑art test lab environment, building and maintaining test setups, executing validation activities, and supporting the development of high‑performance control systems. You will collaborate closely with development teams while contributing to continuous improvement and innovation in testing processes and automation.
How You Will Make an Impact
Set up and maintain test environments using MACH Control System components, including hardware, servers, I/O boards, and simulation platforms
Develop and execute test cases and scenarios to validate system functionalities such as communication, analog, and digital signals
Perform testing for software and hardware releases, ensuring accurate reporting of results to development teams
Maintain and update lab environments with the latest hardware and software configurations
Automate test execution using internal test automation frameworks to improve efficiency and coverage
Support integration team activities, including lab maintenance, license management, and customer support
Ensure high quality standards through structured testing and attention to detail while maintaining a system-level perspective
Uphold Hitachi Energy's core values of safety and integrity in all activities
Your Background
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field
3+ years of experience in embedded systems development or testing; ISTQB certification is an advantage
Knowledge of testing methodologies, automation frameworks, scripting, and tools such as Microsoft OS, SQL, Azure DevOps/TFS
Experience with graphical tools (e.g., Hidraw, MACH platform) and measurement equipment is a plus
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and ability to understand the bigger system context
Fluent in English; Swedish is an advantage, with strong teamwork and ownership mindset
