About the role

We are looking for an AI & Data Scientist who wants to help build the next generation of data-driven products for football.

In this role, you will work with data collection, preparation, statistical analysis, machine learning and AI models that transform complex football data into practical insights. You will collaborate closely with software developers, football experts and product stakeholders throughout the development process.

The role combines analytical work with practical product development and offers significant opportunities to influence both methods and technology choices.

Key responsibilities

- Develop analytical models and AI solutions for football-related applications.

- Prepare, process and analyse structured and unstructured datasets.

- Build, evaluate and improve machine learning models.

- Apply statistical methods to identify patterns and generate evidence-based insights.

- Design and maintain data processing and analytical workflows.

- Support the development of data-driven product features and decision-support tools.

- Communicate analytical findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

- Collaborate with domain experts to ensure analytical methods address real-world football challenges.

- Document methodologies, assumptions and analytical results.

Required qualifications

- Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Statistics, Engineering or a related quantitative field.

- Strong programming skills in Python.

- Experience working with data analysis and machine learning.

- Experience with common machine learning frameworks such as scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow or similar.

- Understanding of statistical analysis and model evaluation.

- Ability to solve analytical problems in a structured manner.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

Meritorious qualifications

The following qualifications are considered advantageous:

- Experience with deep learning or generative AI.

- Experience working with large datasets or data pipelines.

- Knowledge of SQL and database technologies.

- Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS or Google Cloud.

- Experience developing analytical products or decision-support systems.

- Interest in football, sports analytics or applied AI.

Employment

Employment type: Permanent employment with an initial probationary period of six months.

Extent: Full-time.

Location: Uppsala, Sweden (hybrid work possible).
