About the position
As a trauma surgeon, you will play a key role in the treatment of acute injuries and major trauma. The position involves work in the emergency department and operating theatre, as well as close collaboration with other surgical specialties and emergency medicine teams.
Typical responsibilities
Assessment and treatment of patients with acute injuries and trauma
Surgical management of trauma patients
Participation in trauma teams and emergency preparedness
Collaboration with anaesthesiologists, radiologists and other specialists throughout the trauma pathway
Supervision and mentoring of doctors in training and other healthcare professionals
Contributing to patient safety initiatives and quality improvement within the department
We are looking for candidates who
Are specialists in general surgery or another relevant surgical specialty with experience in trauma surgery
Hold medical authorisation and specialist recognition from an EU/EEA country
Have an interest in working within a new healthcare system and adapting to a different clinical environment
Have excellent English language skills, both spoken and written
Communicate clearly and confidently with patients and colleagues
Thrive in a fast-paced environment with complex clinical situations
