About Agteria
Agteria is an AI discovery company for food production. We find novel solutions and mechanisms for agricultural and food-production problems, and license or co-develop them with partners. Our first product is a methane inhibitor for cattle, and we have a pipeline of compounds moving through discovery.
We run fast. Our AI platform proposes novel candidates in days; the wet lab validates them. The Role
We are hiring a Full Stack Software Engineer to design, build, and scale Agteria's internal platform - the system that powers our entire innovation process, from early scientific discovery to commercialization. You will work directly with the tech team and the founders, ship core features end-to-end, and embed workflows from science, regulatory, and commercial teams into one cohesive system.
Your work sits at the intersection of biotech, data, and AI. The platform you build decides how quickly we can move candidates from idea to lab to partner, and how much of our day-to-day science, regulatory, and commercial work can be embedded into one system. Few engineering jobs at this stage put you this close to the action, or this close to actual climate impact.

- Build and scale Agteria's internal platform across the full innovation lifecycle.
- Architect backend and frontend systems that are robust and ready to scale.
- Ship quickly and iterate fast, while introducing structure as the platform matures.
- Work closely with the tech team, founders, Head of Science, and regulatory team to make the platform fit real-world workflows.
Who you are
You have built and shipped production systems in startups before. You know how to balance speed with the kind of decisions that scale, and you are energised by the idea of using software, data, and AI to accelerate scientific discovery in a domain that has been waiting decades for it.
We're a small team building something that matters. That means we need someone who:
- Thrives in uncertainty and moves quickly
- Loves problem-solving, takes ownership, and follows things through
- Is pragmatic and improving constantly, prefers shipping over perfecting
- Wants to be part of building a company, not just filling a role
You likely have:
- 7+ years of experience building and shipping full stack software products, in a startup environment
- Strong skills with our stack: Python, FastAPI, Next.js, PostgreSQL, Google Cloud, Docker, Git/GitHub
- A track record of designing systems, APIs, and data models that hold up over time
- Hands-on experience integrating AI tools into your development workflow
- Maturity to make engineering calls that scale, paired with the speed of someone who knows when "good enough" beats "perfect"
- Design sensibility is a plus, as is working knowledge of AI/ML beyond using the tools
