EHS Centralized Services:

  • Provide technician-level services to customer's Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) program, executing compliance tasks as scheduled, directed, or as needed, and on time as established by the site EHS Lead.
  • Interface with and support the customer's EHS Lead on an ad hoc basis by delivering current data on EHS performance, including trending, incident management, EHS metrics, and other key information to enable timely decision-making.
  • Manage data systems and coordination efforts for the EHS program, developing dashboards, charts, and spreadsheets to support the communication of metrics and reporting.
  • Migrate data to multiple platforms to assist in creating a better overview, reducing duplication, and tracking current versions of EHS documents and records.
  • Work with highly confidential information while maintaining strict confidentiality obligations.

Core Responsibilities:

  • EHS Program Implementation & Monitoring:
  • Assist in the implementation of EHS programs as required by the standard implementation guide, including:
  • Developing registers and tracking information to ensure EHS risks are captured on internal and/or external risk registers and tracking
  • progress until risks are mitigated.
  • Tracking onsite incidents and working with applicable vendors to ensure the adequacy of corrective actions.
  • Reviewing inventories for personal protection equipment (PPE), spill supplies, ladders, powered industrial trucks, lifts, safety data sheets (SDS), and items pertaining to relevant EHS risks.
  • Perform record reviews to ensure accuracy and filing of site permits (e.g., hot work and generator yard access, Energized Electrical Work Permit) and audit training records and vendor EHS action plans as needed.
  • With the assistance of others, routinely monitor cross-functional (XFN) EHS performance for compliance with stated practices, procedures,and regulatory requirements. Monitoring may include Personal air and noise monitoring.
  • Workplace air particulate and sound level sampling.
  • Workplace water sampling.
  • Industrial Ergonomics assessments.
  • Manage the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) library, ensuring all SDS records are current, accessible, and compliant with regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate the ordering of personal protective equipment (PPE) and manage EHS equipment inventory, maintenance, and distribution.

Coordination, Training & Communication:

  • Participate and/or coordinate in project white board meetings, pre-job briefs, or other relevant work planning meetings. Review, evaluate, and provide feedback for vendors' Risk Assessments, Job Hazard Analysis, Pre-Task Planning, Statements of Work, and Method of Procedure (MOP) statement.
  • Verify all onsite vendor companies provide and manage their training programs as required under the Statement of Work (SOW).
  • Support the customer's Wiki page maintenance and updates, and create, maintain, and manage SharePoint sites and Workplace groups.
  • Manage vendor relationships, including onboarding, performance monitoring, and ensuring vendor compliance with EHS requirements.

Compliance, Incident Management & Emergency Response:

  • Coordinate projects in accordance with federal, state, and local regulatory compliance.
  • Notify the EHS Lead and ICM Loss Control Engineer when any instance of non-conformance is identified.
  • Assist with environmental compliance requirements, including the tracking and preparation/shipment of waste, and Waste and SPCC inspections.
  • Assist with the incident investigation process by collecting data related to injuries, illnesses, and incidents, ensuring it is logged in the Incident Management System, tracking corrective actions, and escalating as needed.
  • Pull weekly reports on safety observation inputs and corrective actions and status closures.
  • Manage and coordinate Emergency Action Plan (EAP) updates across assigned sites.
  • Manage incident reporting and tracking through the Enablon incident management system, ensuring timely documentation and escalation.
  • Complete compliance checks and manage tasks assigned through the Enablon platform, ensuring timely closure and accurate documentation.
  • Track and follow up on actions arising from the EHS Interaction program, ensuring corrective measures are implemented and documented.
  • Liaise with Workers' Compensation representatives when needed to support incident follow-up, claims coordination, and return-to-work processes.

EHS Standards & Continuous Improvement:

  • Read and understand all IDC EHS Standards. Assist in developing detailed action plans related to safety, health, and environment to achieve desired improvements and work towards site-specific EHS goals.
  • Assist in managing IDC EHS Standards implementation for all sites and spearhead collaborative efforts with assisting other sites with the implementation of same systems
  • Create templates, forms, and PDFs as needed to support IDC EHS Standards.
  • Present status updates, content creation, strategic planning, project management, and training projects and content integration into the learning management system.
  • Support site EHS Leads and Facility Support Leads (FSLs) on processes, tooling, and training implementation.

Education and Experience:

Required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in an EHS technician, coordinator, or administrative role, preferably within a data center, construction, or industrial environment.
  • Experience in data entry, document control, and maintaining accurate records and metrics.
  • Familiarity with local, state, and federal EHS regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA).

Desired:

  • Professional EHS certifications (e.g., OSHA 30-hour, HAZWOPER, First Aid/CPR/AED instructor).
  • Experience with incident management systems and safety observation applications.
  • Proficiency in data visualization and dashboard creation.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong administrative and data management skills, with proficiency in creating spreadsheets, charts, and dashboards.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, especially when handling highly confidential information.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to build cross-functional relationships and interface with vendors, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to coordinate and track multiple tasks simultaneously and meet established deadlines.
  • Competence in utilizing collaborative tools and platforms (e.g., SharePoint, Wiki pages, Workplace groups).
  • Ability to conduct physical site walks, inspections, and monitoring activities in various environmental conditions.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills with a commitment to continuous improvement in EHS performance.
