Assignment Description

We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer

What You Will Work On

Lead the end-to-end redesign and productization of ITFM data logic

Reverse engineer and extract business rules from existing dbt models

Validate and refine logic together with business stakeholders

Define and implement a structured information model (sources → concepts → dimensions/facts → reporting layer)

Design and build star schema data models (fact tables, conformed dimensions, SCD where required)

Refactor dbt projects into structured layers (staging, intermediate, marts) with improved standards

Optimize BigQuery performance and cost (partitioning, clustering, incremental processing)

Support ongoing development of new datasets, metrics, and integrations

Ensure high code quality through testing, CI practices, code reviews, and release management

Produce clear and structured documentation (dbt docs, lineage, data contracts, runbooks)

Leverage AI tools to support documentation, testing, and migration activities

What You Bring

Strong expertise in SQL and advanced data modeling (star schema, fact/dimension modeling)

Extensive hands-on experience with dbt (macros, testing, incremental models, documentation)

Proven experience with Google Cloud Platform, especially BigQuery (performance tuning and cost optimization)

Domain knowledge in FinOps or ITFM (e.g., cost allocation, chargeback models)

Ability to work in environments with limited documentation and drive requirement clarification

Strong experience in technical documentation and data governance

Proven ability to lead refactoring and modernization initiatives

Experience mentoring or supporting other engineers

Familiarity with applying AI tools in development workflows
