Together with TRATON and our sister brands MAN, Volkswagen Truck & Bus, and International, we are working to shape the future of mobility with innovative and environmentally conscious solutions.

Together, we are at the forefront of creating a sustainable future.

Role Summary

Join Global Finance Operations and help ensure reliable accounting and reporting for Scania's production and logistics operations. In this role, you will combine accounting expertise, stakeholder collaboration and continuous improvement to support informed business decisions and strong financial control during an important transformation journey.

Our Production and Logistics Accounting and Reporting team is responsible for record-to-report activities for 18 production and logistics units. The quality of our work helps Scania make reliable decisions, meet internal and external requirements and maintain strong financial control during a period of change.

As Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for the accounting and reporting of selected units within the Production and Logistics flow. You will combine detailed accounting work with stakeholder dialogue, reporting quality and continuous improvement. You are not expected to know every process from day one. We do, however, expect you to take ownership, ask relevant questions and build the knowledge needed to succeed. You will contribute your experience, share knowledge with colleagues and help resolve deviations in a structured and accountable way.

Job responsibilities

  • Ensure complete, accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and annual closings.
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations and ensure proper documentation and follow-up.
  • Secure compliance with statutory requirements, International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), local GAAP and group reporting requirements.
  • Act as the main contact for your designated units towards auditors, Group Reporting, finance managers and local finance and business control teams.
  • Coordinate monthly activities, such as payroll and personnel related postings and ad hoc payments
  • Drive improvements in accounting processes and ways of working to increase efficiency, quality and compliance.
  • Contribute to more harmonised ways of working across units.
  • Support the ongoing migration from Oracle to SAP S/4HANA.
  • Work with continuous improvements according to The Scania Way.

Who you are

You demonstrate strong accounting knowledge along with ownership, structure, and sound judgment. You are comfortable working with details while understanding the broader business impact of accurate and timely reporting.

In this role, you will work with several stakeholders, including local finance teams, auditors, Group reporting, finance managers and colleagues across Global Finance Operations. You can explain accounting topics in a clear way, and you contribute to a constructive team climate where knowledge is shared. You take responsibility for your deliverables, ask relevant questions, and proactively flag risks.

You are also curious about improving how work is done. We value people who can identify practical improvements, challenge unclear ways of working in a respectful way and help us build more harmonised, efficient and compliant processes.

You need to bring

  • A university degree in accounting, finance or equivalent experience.
  • 5 years' experience in accounting and financial reporting.
  • Good knowledge of Swedish GAAP and local statutory requirements.
  • Experience from book closing, reconciliations and group reporting.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems, preferably Oracle and SAP.
  • Good communication skills in English, both written and spoken.

We also value that you:

  • Communicate clearly and collaborate well across functions.
  • Stay calm and methodical when challenges arise.
  • Are helpful and service minded.
  • Enjoy solving problems and improving how work is done.

It is an advantage if you have:

  • Experience from SAP S/4HANA implementation or transformation.
  • Experience with Power Query, DAX, Power BI or similar tools.
  • Curiosity about how AI and digital tools can support accounting, reporting and analysis.
