We are seeking an experienced Project Director to join our team on a large-scale data centre project. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing an entire project team of Civil, Structural, Architectural, Mechanical & Electrical Supervisors, Engineers, administrative staff, and Subcontractors as they carry out CSA, Mechanical & Electrical installation and ensure the project programme is kept. The Project Director must be effective at motivating their team, as well as giving a frank but constructive assessment of the work done.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the overall planning, execution, and delivery of the project, ensuring efficient engineering and innovative approaches throughout.
Develop and implement project strategies, collaborating closely with teams to manage, support, and motivate performance.
Manage and track project budgets, labour resources, costs, commissioning procedures, and overall project performance.
Ensure best practices are embedded from the outset, including reporting systems, meeting structures, and project documentation.
Maintain continuous engagement with key stakeholders (clients, design teams, consultants, subcontractors) to ensure successful delivery.
Safeguard client satisfaction by ensuring cost, scope, and programme requirements are consistently met.
Champion health & safety standards, promoting a positive culture and proactive behaviours on-site.
Monitor and uphold quality targets, ensuring standards are achieved and exceeded.
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor's or master's degree in construction, engineering, or a related discipline.
Extensive experience in a senior leadership role, with a proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale projects (including Mechanical & Electrical contracting, ideally €50M+ in value) from design through to completion.
Strong commercial and contractual awareness, with the ability to manage budgets, control costs, and oversee financial performance.
Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively and balance detail with the bigger picture.
Demonstrated leadership capability, able to inspire, motivate, and manage high-performing teams while building strong relationships with clients, consultants, and suppliers.
Proactive, diligent, and forward-thinking, with a solutions-focused approach to challenges.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
