Om jobbet
Blekinge Institute of Technology is a place of curiosity and ingenuity with a campus in the middle of the Blekinge archipelago. Here we offer education from undergraduate to doctoral level and conduct world-class applied research. We change and make a difference. Do you want to become one of us?The Department of Computer Science (DIDA) is one of two departments at the Faculty of Computing. The department is BTH's largest department, with 70 people. The research at the department is conducted in the area of computer science. This includes the subareas of big data and AI, parallel computer systems, visual and interactive computer science, and security and distributed systems.
Work description
The position includes teaching computer science with a focus on IT and cyber security. Teaching responsibilities span two of BTH's engineering programs in security. Teaching can include lectures and practical elements such as laboratory exercises and project work, as well as supervision of degree projects at the undergraduate level. Teaching is primarily conducted in Swedish, and proficiency in Swedish is therefore strongly recommended. A non-Swedish-speaking applicant may be considered but would be expected to acquire sufficient Swedish skills within three years.
The employment may also include administrative tasks such as course development and participation in the department's internal work. Under special circumstances, and if prerequisites are met, there may be limited opportunity to conduct research in the security area.
Skills needed
The successful candidate is expected to have strong documented competence in cyber security education, research, and practical training, with the ability to contribute to the continued development of both existing and future course offerings in IT and OT security.
The candidate should have teaching experience and subject-matter expertise in several of the following areas:
- Digital Forensics
- Advanced Digital Forensics
- Web Security
- Penetration Testing
- Secure Systems
- Network Security
- Security tools, methods, and operational skills relevant to SOC / TIR levels 1, 2, and 3
- Threat Intelligence
- Malware Analysis
- Advanced Malware Analysis
- Critical Infrastructure Protection
- Security for AI
The candidate should also be able to contribute to the development of education and training in both Red Team and Blue Team operations. Strong merit if the candidate has experience in designing and delivering hands-on, scenario-based cyber security training.
We use CyberRanges as our platform for everything from individual skills training to large-scale, complex Red and Blue Team exercises. In our training environment, we also connect real cyber-physical systems to the CyberRange platform in order to simulate realistic attacks and defence scenarios. Experience of working with OT/ICS/SCADA environments, cyber-physical systems, and realistic attack simulation is therefore considered a strong merit.
The ideal candidate should be able to bridge academic teaching with current professional practice and contribute to the continued development of courses and training environments that prepare students for work in modern cyber defence, incident response, and critical infrastructure protection.
