Lead Accountant - Investment Accounting & Investment Oversight

About the Role

As a Lead Accountant, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality financial reporting and controls, while contributing to the development of a scalable accounting platform. You'll work closely with both local and international stakeholders and be involved in everything from financial reporting to client onboarding and process improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Accounting & Reporting:

• Review financials prepared by Property Accountants to ensure accuracy
• Prepare journals, maintain general ledger integrity, and oversee closings
• Deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting packages
• Produce statutory financial statements in line with Swedish regulations
• Perform reconciliations, variance analysis, and tax/VAT filings

Control & Compliance:

• Ensure compliance with Swedish GAAP, IFRS, and internal policies
• Support financial controls and SOC 1 processes
• Identify and resolve discrepancies

Cash & Liquidity:

• Coordinate payments and cash movements
• Support VAT processes and liquidity forecasting

Audit & Improvement:

• Support internal and external audits
• Drive process improvements and participate in projects

Investment Oversight:

• Review outputs from external providers
• Perform analytical reviews and support governance frameworks

Stakeholder Engagement:

• Collaborate with internal accounting teams and global stakeholders
• Engage with clients, auditors, and external advisors
• Build strong relationships to deliver exceptional client service

What We're Looking For:

Essential

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 3+ years of relevant accounting experience
• Strong understanding of Swedish GAAP and IFRS
• Experience with financial statements, reconciliations, tax, and VAT
• Advanced Excel skills
• Fluent in Swedish and English
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive mindset

Desirable

• Real estate/property accounting experience (PropCo structures)
• Experience with Yardi or similar systems
• Exposure to Nordic markets
