Job Description
Who is your future team?
The Core Technologies Imaging teams own and drive the imaging agenda at Axis and make sure that Axis continues to be the world leader in image performance and quality. We are responsible for the development of the image processing architecture and algorithms, and for the implementation of those in HW and SW. We are also responsible for the camera image sensor and optics components and technologies, supplier interaction, evaluations and recommendations for Axis' products. Furthermore, the team is a competence center for the R&D organization in areas of image processing, sensor and optics technologies. We are now looking for an engineer within the image sensor area.
What you'll do here?
You will join an image sensor focused team that has the responsibility to drive the image sensor agenda within Axis. That includes tight collaboration with our suppliers as well as with our product development organizations, deep technical understanding and exploration of image sensor technologies and features, trial of new technologies, issues management, lab environment build-up and evolution, etc. The team is in the technical forefront regarding image sensors and our activities are key to the success of Axis. For this position we are especially interested in a person that further strengthens our team's understanding of how image sensors are built up, their technologies and features, and how to test the sensors as well as the team's ability to analyze the results in collaboration with the product organization and our suppliers. The position also includes testing image sensors, simulating sensor performance and communicating results in written reports as well as verbally.
Our suppliers are present in US and Asia so travelling might be included in this role. Normally the team, or parts of the team, does two to four intercontinental trips per year. We also welcome our suppliers to Lund on a regular basis.
Who are you?
We believe you have a background and interest in physics, semiconductor technologies, imaging, labs and measurements. You are eager to get to the bottom of new technologies as well as challenges and issues, and you are careful with details and overall well organized. The following criteria matches your background:
• Engineering degree on M.Sc or PhD level within engineering physics, electronics or similar
• Experience and interest in image sensor technologies and manufacturing
• Experience and interest in image sensor tests, lab equipment and test techniques
• Experience in root cause analysis is considered a merit
• Experience in image processing and algorithms is considered a merit
• Experience in supplier interaction is considered a merit
The role as Image Sensor Engineer is collaborative and requires the ability to interact with people inside and outside the organization. You have good communication skills and are fluent in English, both written and verbal. You are self-reliable and have an interest to develop yourself and your area of responsibilities and combine this with being humble and easy to cooperate with.
