Special Credits is responsible for managing selected corporate clients who encounter challenges that may compromise their business relationship with Danske Bank. These clients are typically identified by poor creditworthiness or similar concerns, such as weak operating models, management difficulties and financial distress. The Swedish team comprises four senior Credit Risk Managers across two locations: Malmö and Stockholm.
The primary objective of Special Credits is to handle high-risk clients and minimise potential losses for Danske Bank. The team assumes comprehensive responsibility for customer relationships in partnership with Relationship Managers. Special Credits frequently participates in meetings with clients and stakeholders, actively developing optimisation and recovery strategies tailored to assist financially troubled companies. If turn-around attempts fail, Special Credits proceeds with work-out negotiations, also including bankruptcy procedures.
The role as head of this team presents a compelling opportunity within Special Credits due to its complexity, broad responsibility and senior team. Beside client work, the position includes conducting impairment assessments of distressed clients. Duties also involve reporting, ad hoc presentations, credit research, sector analysis, and preparation of memos for other departments and senior management within Danske Bank.

In this role we expect you to have:
- At least 5–7 years of managerial experience managing specialised teams.
- A minimum of 10 years’ experience in a credit or banking position, or legal practice focused on distressed situations.
- High fluency in both written and spoken Swedish and English.
- A positive and constructive attitude when interacting with clients, internal departments, other lenders, legal professionals, and relevant authorities.
