On behalf of a well-run and modern medical practice in Rogaland, Western Norway, we are seeking a family medicine specialist (GP) for a permanent position.

This opportunity is well suited for EU-qualified GP specialists who are considering relocating to Norway and are looking for long-term stability, professional autonomy and meaningful patient relationships within a high-quality primary care system.

About the medical practice

The clinic is one of several established GP practices in the municipality and is organised with multiple GP lists in a well-functioning and supportive environment. You will work alongside experienced nurses and medical secretaries who ensure efficient workflows, well-structured patient pathways, and strong daily support.

The practice is designed to support high professional standards in general practice and allows you to focus on clinical work and continuity of care.

You will take over an established patient list of approximately 900 patients, offering a predictable workload and a stable patient population.

The municipality has a strong and stable primary care service with several GPs and resident doctors. As a GP, you will be part of a collaborative medical community with good opportunities for professional discussion and peer support.

Key responsibilities

Work as a GP with responsibility for your own patient list

Municipal medical duties (such as nursing home or public health tasks) by agreement

Participation in the local out-of-hours service (emergency primary care)

The municipality operates its own out-of-hours service, organised in a shared rota system. Enhanced on-call compensation is provided, along with paid time off on the following working day after night duty, regardless of activity level.

Qualifications

Medical license and specialist approval from an EU country

Specialist in family medicine, preferably with minimum two years of experience

Good communication skills in English, and motivated to learn Norwegian

Experience in pediatric medicine and infant check-ups

Experience in gynecological examinations in an office setting

Ability to handle a broad variety of patients and diagnoses independently

Class B driver's license is an advantages

A clean criminal record must be documented through a police certificate in accordance with the Health Personnel Act
