Job Description

Customer Growth is a newly established global function created to enable the next phase of Wallenius Wilhelmsen's commercial transformation. As part of our ambitious Commercial Excellence agenda within Customer Growth, we are evolving our commercial operating model through several strategic initiatives, including implementation of a CRM solution, transformation of our sales and customer management organization, and rollout of a new customer segmentation model.

The Customer Growth organization is still in a build-up phase, creating a unique opportunity to join a transformation journey.

We are now looking for aCommercial Performance Leadto drive forecasting governance, KPI frameworks, and commercial analytics across products, regions, and customer segments.

The role will support senior commercial leadership with performance management, demand planning, scenario analysis, and decision support while helping build a stronger analytical and forecasting capability globally.

Responsibilities

Performance Framework & Governance
  • Establish and maintain standardized performance measurement frameworks, definitions, standards and KPIs for commercial performance.
  • Develop and maintain the KPI framework for commercial and sales performance mgt.
  • Establish and drive the sales performance review cadence (weekly/monthly/quarterly), ensuring structured inputs into leadership forums.
  • Develop and deliver executive-ready performance materials, ensuring clarity, consistency, and insights
  • Ensure strong alignment between commercial strategy, financial targets, and performance tracking frameworks.
  • Develop and deliver on roadmap for commercial performance management and demand forecasting

Forecasting, Planning & Financial Alignment development
  • Own the overall demand forecasting strategy, governance model, and performance outcomes across product segments.
  • Ensure robust, unbiased forecasting processes led by Demand Planners, with clear integration of commercial inputs and operational constraints.
  • Oversee and coordinate targeting, budgeting, and forecasting processes for CG, ensuring alignment with Finance and Product organizations.
  • Translate forecasting outputs into actionable commercial insights, highlighting risks, opportunities, and required interventions.
  • Business ownership for overall forecasting process and system solution

Cross-functional alignment and "so what analysis"
  • Develop and deliver high-quality, insight-driven analyses to support cross-functional alignment on market, customer, and business developments, including forward-looking scenarios and their implications.
  • Translate data and trends into clear "so what" conclusions, highlighting risks, opportunities, and required actions for the business.
  • Facilitate structured discussions across relevant stakeholders to ensure alignment on implications, priorities, and follow-up actions.

Leadership & Capability Development
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of Commercial Performance Managers and Demand Planners.
  • Set clear objectives, priorities, and performance expectations aligned with overall business strategy.
  • Build strong analytical and performance management capabilities within the team, promoting best practices and continuous improvement.

Qualifications and experience

We are looking for someone with:

• 8+ years of experience, including at least 5 years of commercial, sales performance or revenue management roles.

• Experience working with complex commercial setups involving multiple products, customer segments, and sales channels.

• Strong exposure to forecasting, budgeting, and commercial planning processes.

• Experience in B2B industries such as shipping, logistics, or transportation (RoRo shipping is an advantage)

• Expertise in sales performance management frameworks, including target setting, pipeline tracking, conversion metrics, and revenue realization.

• Strong understanding of key commercial KPIs such as volume, revenue, margin, win rates, customer retention, and sales funnel health.

• Experience designing and implementing KPI structures and performance dashboards that drive accountability and action.

• Ability to translate commercial strategy into measurable targets and performance tracking mechanisms.

• Solid understanding of how pricing, customer segmentation, and product strategy influence commercial performance

• Experience identifying performance gaps and driving structured interventions to improve sales outcomes.

• Advanced analytical capabilities, with the ability to synthesize large datasets into clear, actionable insights.

• Strong communication skills and presentation skills
  • Ability to coach and develop an analytical team

The role is located at our Stockholm office or at our Oslo office.
