At GeoGuessr, the Business function is responsible for the company's financial operations and commercial strategy, with a focus on maximizing growth and profitability. This includes owning the company's business KPIs and providing analytical support to the rest of the organization.

Expectations on the role

• The Business Analyst role will be part of a central insights team working closely with the Chief Business Officer (incl. CFO role) and Insights Lead to define and track the company's success metrics
• The role will focus on business and finance analytics, delivering insights with clear financial impact
• The employee is expected to work independently with data analysis, and effectively communicate results to stakeholders
• The employee will collaborate across multiple teams and functions, e.g. to identify improvement areas and track progress

Core tasks, activities, projects

• Help define the company's success metrics especially within the business and finance domains, aligning with the company's long term vision and growth ambition
• Establish and enforce data quality standards, governance, and availability
• Support management and other teams with data analytics, translated into concrete recommendations
• Provide monthly management reports incl. budget follow up and forecasts predicting revenue growth and cash flow
• Analyze the profitability and unit economics of different products and offerings
• Build "What-if" scenario models to predict the impact of e.g. new feature launches, or marketing spend adjustments
• Work closely with data engineering team to define and implement centralized KPIs in standardized reports and dashboards, and ensure correct usage

Requirements (previous experience)

• B.Sc./M.Sc. in Business, Finance and/or Engineering, Mathematics or Computer Science
• 2+ years of professional experience from business analytics or business control (FP&A), preferably at a gaming/SaaS or other growth/tech company
• Experience from working with a modern data stack and leading BI tools (e.g. Looker, PowerBI) and preferably Google Analytics
• Proficiency in SQL (preferably with dbt), Python/R, advanced data modeling, Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
• Experience in data science, machine learning or AI/conversational analytics is an advantage

Requirements (personal traits)

• Strong problem solver, able to independently and quickly deliver analyses of high quality
• Self-driven, hard working and reliable, able to plan and prioritize own work as well and collaborate well with others
• Strong business acumen and understanding of finance and accounting, with experience from advanced financial modeling, preferably with an understanding of SaaS metrics
• Excellent communicator, written and verbal, in English and/or Swedish and ability to influence stakeholders
