About FC Rosengård Elitfotboll AB

At FC Rosengård, we are more than just a football club, we are a movement. We sit at the intersection of elite sporting performance and deep-rooted social responsibility. We're expanding the organisation around our elite women's team, competing in Damallsvenskan, and are now looking for an Assistant Coach to support the first team's development on and off the pitch.

Role Overview

The Assistant Coach works directly within FC Rosengård's first team coaching setup, supporting training delivery, matchday preparation, and tactical development for the squad competing in Damallsvenskan. A core part of the role is designing and delivering individualised development work, technical, tactical, physical, and psychological, that complements team training and accelerates each player's growth. The role bridges team-level coaching with the personalised attention players need to reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

Player Assessment & Development Planning

Conduct detailed individual player assessments across technical, tactical, cognitive, physical, and psycho-social domains.

Create, implement, and regularly review Individual Development Plans (IDPs) for each assigned player in collaboration with the Head of Coaching, age-group coaches, and sport science staff.

Use video analysis, data analytics, and performance metrics to identify development priorities and track progress over time.

Maintain detailed records of each player's development journey, including session notes, milestone achievements, and areas requiring further focus.

1-to-1 and Small-Group Coaching

Plan and deliver high-quality individual and small-group training sessions tailored to each player's and position groups development needs.

Focus on technical skill refinement (e.g., first touch, passing range, finishing, dribbling, defending technique), decision-making, positional understanding, and game intelligence.

Design progressive session plans that challenge players appropriately and align with the club's playing philosophy and curriculum.

Use creative, engaging, and evidence-based coaching methods to maximize learning and retention.

Integration with the Wider Coaching Program

Work closely with Head of Football and age-group lead coaches to ensure individual development work complements and reinforces team training objectives.

Provide feedback to HoF/coaching staff on individual player progress, readiness, and any concerns.

Support the transition of players between age groups and phases of development, where applicable and within the club's remit.

Contribute to the club's coaching curriculum and methodology by sharing insights from individual work where appropriate.

Performance Analysis & Feedback

Utilize video analysis tools (e.g., Hudl, Sportscode, Catapult) to review match and training footage with players on an individual basis.

Deliver clear, constructive, and age-appropriate feedback that empowers players to take ownership of their development.

Set short-, medium-, and long-term goals collaboratively with each player.

Holistic Player Development

Support players' psychological development, including confidence, resilience, motivation, and a growth mindset.

Liaise with sport psychologists, sport scientists, physiotherapists, nutritionists, and education/welfare officers to ensure a holistic approach.

Act as a mentor and trusted point of contact for players and, where appropriate, their parents/guardians.

Promote positive attitudes toward learning, self-reflection, and professionalism.

Continued Professional Development

Stay current with best practices in individual player development, coaching science, motor learning, and talent development research.

Attend internal and external CPD events, coaching conferences, and workshops.

Engage in reflective practice and peer observation to continuously improve coaching delivery.

Person Specification

Essential Qualifications & Experience

Proven experience in player development coaching within an academy, professional club, or high-performance environment.

Strong understanding of long-term player development models (e.g., EPPP in England, MLS NEXT pathway, or equivalent).

Demonstrated ability to plan, deliver, and evaluate high-quality 1-to-1 and small-group sessions.

Working knowledge of performance analysis software and data-driven development tools.

Valid safeguarding/child protection certification (or willingness to obtain).

Current First Aid and CPR certification.

Essential Skills & Attributes

Exceptional communication skills - ability to connect with and inspire players of varying ages, backgrounds, and ability levels.

Deep technical football knowledge combined with an understanding of modern tactical trends.

Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for developing people, not just players.

Highly organized with strong attention to detail in planning and record-keeping.

Collaborative team player who thrives in a multi-disciplinary environment.

A commitment to continuous learning and self-improvement.

Ability to build trust-based relationships with players, parents, and staff.

Desirable

UEFA A Licence or UEFA Pro Licence.

Experience as a professional or semi-professional player.

Background in sport science, sport psychology, or a related field.

Proficiency in a second language relevant to the club's player demographic (French, Swedish, English).

Familiarity with periodization and age-appropriate physical development principles.

Reports to: Crux Director of Individual Development Plan Coaches

Location: Malmö, Sweden

Compensation: Competitive salary commensurate with experience and qualifications, plus benefits including coaching education support, sportswear/equipment provision, and professional development funding.

Hours: Full-time; includes evenings and weekends to accommodate training schedules, matches, and tournaments. Schedule flexibility is essential.

DBS / Background Check: Required prior to start date.
