At ABB, we're developing the next generation of our world-leading Process Control Platform, used by customers across a wide range of industries worldwide. As a Test Lead, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of a global product developed in Malmö and deployed across ABB's Process Automation portfolio.

You will lead a growing team of test engineers and drive the development of advanced automated testing solutions for a highly complex technology environment. This is a great opportunity for someone who combines strong technical expertise with a passion for leadership, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Your role and responsibilities

• Lead and develop the PIT (Product Integration Test) team, currently consisting of 6-7 engineers and expected to grow.
• Drive the development of automated test solutions for both embedded controllers and engineering components.
• Oversee testing of backend services, advanced engineering tools and editors, communication layers, software libraries, and complex platform functionality.
• Ensure quality and coverage for critical areas such as redundancy, hot swap capabilities, cybersecurity, safety, performance, and system stability.
• Lead the continued development of the PIT test framework, a platform developed in Malmö and intended for global use across ABB.
• Report test progress, quality metrics, and overall test status to development projects and stakeholders.
• Plan and coordinate test activities within the team while acting as Scrum Master.
• Define, implement, and continuously improve the test strategy and test processes.
• Collaborate closely with other testing organizations and development teams within Process Control Platform R&D to ensure a consistent quality approach.

Qualifications for the role

• Proven experience as a Test Lead or in a similar test leadership role within software and hardware development.
• Experience testing physical products and systems in complex technical environments.
• A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Hands-on experience with automated testing and test frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of containerized environments, CI/CD pipelines, and Azure DevOps.
• Experience with scripting and basic software development.
• Excellent communication skills in both Swedish and English.
