About the Role
You will join an automotive design assignment focused on lamp development, where surface quality, technical feasibility and design intent need to come together from early sketch work to final Class-A delivery. This opportunity includes one Surface Design Lead role and two Surface Designer roles, all working closely with design and engineering to turn creative concepts into production-ready surfaces. You will be part of a setup where coordination, quality and technical understanding are just as important as your surfacing skills. Job DescriptionDepending on your role, you will either lead the surface design delivery or contribute hands-on as a Surface Designer within the lamp area.
You will develop lamp surfaces from the early sketch phase through technical maturation to Class-A delivery.
You will work in Autodesk Alias Surface and/or ICEM Surf as your primary surfacing tools, with CATIA V5 used for technical input, model preparation and release validation.
You will translate design intent into high-quality surfaces that meet technical requirements and agreed quality standards.
As Surface Design Lead, you will coordinate communication with design, plan and distribute work, manage files, drive design reviews and secure deliveries according to standards.
You will support Studio Engineering activities and help ensure that technical implementation is reflected correctly in the model.
You will collaborate in a distributed team setup, align with milestones and communicate risks or deviations proactively.
RequirementsSurface Design Lead: Senior experience in surface design with strong coordination capability.
Surface Design Lead: Knowledge of Studio Engineering within exterior lighting and strong technical understanding of lamps.
Surface Designers: Proven experience in automotive surface design and exterior lighting.
Ability to deliver high-quality Class-A surfaces.
Knowledge of Studio Engineering and technical requirements related to lamp development.
Hands-on experience with Autodesk Alias Surface and/or ICEM Surf.
Experience with CATIA V5 for technical input, model preparation and release validation.
Ability to collaborate through Microsoft Teams.
Ability to complete a background check before start, including identity, education, employment history and citizenship verification.
Nice to haveExperience with Teamcenter.
Experience supporting technical implementation close to release and delivery activities.
