The Role
As a Senior Sysadmin at Univrses, you will be the backbone of our technical operations, ensuring that our entire engineering organization has the stable, secure, and scalable infrastructure it needs to thrive.

In this role, you will work closely with the CTO to design and maintain a company-wide infrastructure that is both resilient and secure.You will oversee the cross-functional systems that support all our research, development, and production environments. We are looking for a proactive professional to manage our cloud footprint and on-premise resources, ensuring our team of world-class engineers can work without friction.

This is a on-site position since you will be responsible of our on premise infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Infrastructure Support: implement long-term infrastructure roadmaps that prioritize company-wide stability and data security.
• Core Systems Oversight: Design, deploy, and maintain robust server environments (both AWS and on-premise) that support multiple project teams.
• System Reliability & Uptime: Proactively monitor system health and performance across the organization to ensure high availability for all internal and external services.
• Resource Governance: Manage global resource allocation (databases, storage, compute).
• Security & Access Control: Implement and enforce company-wide security.
• Disaster Recovery: Develop and maintain rigorous backup strategies and recovery procedures to protect company data and intellectual property.

Who you are

• Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Experience: 5+ years of experience in Systems Administration, Infrastructure Engineering, or SRE.
• Maintenance Pro: Proven track record in patch management, software distribution, and maintaining system integrity across a fleet of machines.
• Linux Expertise: Deep proficiency in Linux/Unix administration and shell scripting (Bash, Python).
• Networking Specialist: Strong understanding of networking architecture.
• Cloud & Containers: Proven experience managing AWS environments and containerized applications using Docker.
• Reliability Mindset: A "security-first" and "stability-first" approach to managing infrastructure, with the communication skills to report directly to technical leadership.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Familiarity with Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
• Monitoring Stacks: Experience setting up company-wide monitoring using Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK.
• Storage Solutions: Experience managing large-scale data storage (S3, NAS, Artifactory).
