Job location: Gothenburg, Sweden

NI is making significant investments to become the market leading provider of holistic test solutions for the Electric Vehicles market.

As a Senior Project Engineer (m/f/d), you will work in the design, development, and deployment of large complex Electric Vehicle (EV) test solutions for some of our most important automotive test customers in the region, with the opportunity to provide technical leadership to the development team and execution excellence to the project.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering for customers in the test solutions projects in the automotive industry.
• Accurately identifying and analyzing customer requirements and creating detailed specifications and estimates regarding the necessary software and hardware in close cooperation with global groups.
• Design, development, and programming in a test software environment based on our automation tools, including PAtools
• Training customers in the operation of the test solution they receive from NI
• Ensure adherence to our development processes, ensure quality, and provide feedback to other engineers
• Interact with customers, NI staff, external partners, and external suppliers in support of designing, implementing, and sustaining custom test solutions
• Understand and apply technology trends in Electrification
• Make and justify design tradeoffs between cost, performance, and time to market
• Define test system specifications based on customer requirements. Provide estimates and collaborate in the proposal process.
• Travel to visit customers and support project delivers as needed
• Mentor junior engineers and share technical knowledge within the company
• Strong track record of releasing high quality systems and features
• Identify key risks to projects and proposes mitigation options
• Fosters an environment within product team to set and achieve high levels of quality.
• Strong track record of setting and delivering on expectations.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related discipline
• 5 years of experience with languages as C#, • NET, Python or similar
• Display a high degree of ownership and accountability
• Cross-cultural understanding and growth mindset
• Knowledge in the automotive industry, with focus in EV test related application areas
• Agile, innovative, and critical thinker with a good technical foundation & thought leadership
• Strong attention to detail; excellent communication skills (both verbal and written Swedish and English)
• Demonstrated analytical skills with problem-solving and process improvement orientation
• Take initiative, be a self-starter, and work independently
• Persistently drive tasks and lead projects to successful completion
• Quickly learn applicable technology, systems, and products
• Knowledge of battery testing application and PAtools is a plus
