To achieve our ambition, we are looking for colleagues who are ready to join us on this journey! Tomorrow can't wait, let's shape it together!

British American Tobacco Sweden has an exciting opportunity for a Quality Laboratory Coordinator in Malmö.

The Quality Laboratory Coordinator leads and oversees the day-to-day operations of the factory Quality Laboratory, ensuring accurate, reliable, and timely testing of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products in compliance with BAT Quality standards, legal requirements, and regulatory expectations.

As the laboratory's technical lead, the role drives excellence through robust analytical practices, equipment reliability, data integrity, and capability development. The Quality Laboratory Coordinator supports factory decision-making through accurate quality data, ensures laboratory compliance, and drives continuous improvement across laboratory operations and performance.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Manage day-to-day laboratory operations to ensure timely testing and release of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products.

Ensure the accuracy, reliability, integrity, and timely delivery of all laboratory testing results.

Maintain compliance with BAT Quality standards, GMP, HACCP, local regulatory requirements, and applicable quality management systems.

Own and maintain laboratory systems, including SOPs, test methods, equipment calibration, validation activities, and documentation control.

Ensure data integrity, traceability, and proper documentation of all laboratory activities, testing records, and quality results.

Lead investigations into quality issues, OOS (Out of Specification) results, and laboratory deviations, implementing effective RCA and CAPA actions.

Support factory performance through quality data analysis, reporting, NCP coordination, New Product Introduction (NPI) activities, and IWS Quality Pillar initiatives.

Comply and implement activities in accordance with the rules of laws and regulations relating to environmental protection, safety at work and fire protection, and internal EHS or Sustainability standards and procedures.

What are we looking for?

2-4+ years of experience in Quality Control laboratory operations within a manufacturing environment.

Previous experience leading teams and coordinating laboratory workloads in a fast-paced operational setting.

Experience managing OOS investigations, quality deviations, audit preparation, and regulatory inspections.

Proven experience in laboratory method validation, equipment qualification, calibration programs, and quality system management.

Strong knowledge of analytical testing techniques, including physical, chemical, and/or microbiological analysis.

Solid understanding of GMP, HACCP, ISO standards, laboratory compliance requirements, and data integrity principles.

Proficiency in Root Cause Analysis (RCA), CAPA management, structured problem-solving methodologies, sampling plans, and statistical quality tools.

Technical qualification or degree in a scientific or technical discipline, with GMP, HACCP, or Laboratory Quality certification required; ISO 17025 and Lean Six Sigma Green Belt knowledge or certification preferred.
