Product Owner IAM

Be part of Clavister's journey to secure the digital world. We are looking for a Product Owner with the leadership, product thinking and technical judgement to lead a cross-functional Java team responsible for authentication, identity management and digital signing products.

Working closely with the Product Manager, you will contribute to the vision and roadmap for our IAM portfolio, own the backlog and guide delivery across Product, Engineering, Architecture and Security.

The role This role combines product ownership, people leadership and engineering delivery. Creating focus, developing people and building an effective team are more important than being an IAM specialist.

You should be comfortable in the IAM domain and able to discuss Java or a comparable enterprise backend ecosystem, architecture, integrations, quality and engineering trade-offs. The portfolio includes established on-premises products with multiple supported versions and SaaS offerings, requiring sound judgement when balancing development and technical debt.

Key responsibilities

Lead and develop a cross-functional Java team, with responsibility for people leadership, competence development, team effectiveness and delivery practices, including feedback and professional development.

Contribute customer, delivery and team perspectives to the Product Manager's vision and roadmap.

Own and prioritise the backlog based on product direction, customer needs, security requirements and capacity.

Translate roadmap objectives into clear outcomes, requirements and acceptance criteria.

Collaborate with engineers, architects and IAM specialists on system design, APIs, integrations and architecture.

Balance new capabilities and technical debt with cybersecurity, privacy, quality, usability, scalability and maintainability.

Drive delivery from refinement and planning through development, automated testing and operational follow-up.

Promote modern engineering practices, including CI/CD, DevOps, observability, code review and test automation.

Recruit, coach and mentor team members and foster trust, learning and knowledge sharing.

Coordinate dependencies, risks and expectations across Product, Technology, Architecture, Security and other stakeholders.

To thrive in this role we believe you have

Experience leading and developing commercial software product teams, with focus on people, performance, collaboration and delivery.

Experience with product ownership, backlog management and agile software delivery.

A hands-on background in software engineering or architecture and enough technical understanding to engage confidently with Java developers and architects.

Experience with Java or a comparable enterprise backend ecosystem.

Experience collaborating with Product Managers and stakeholders on product discovery, priorities, vision and roadmap.

Comfort working in IAM and curiosity to learn authentication, identity and signing concepts.

Knowledge of secure software development, privacy and vulnerability management.

Strong communication, coaching, stakeholder management, problem-solving and change leadership skills.

Fluent English, both written and spoken.

Extra points for

Experience in IAM, authentication, digital identity or electronic signing.

Familiarity with IAM integrations, APIs, federation, identity lifecycle processes or trust services.

Experience as a Scrum Master or in a similar agile facilitation role.
