Your role & responsibilities

Are you passionate about innovation, collaboration, and creating meaningful engagement? As an Open Innovation Activation Specialist, you will play a key role in strengthening the visibility and impact of SynerLeap across ABB and the external innovation ecosystem.

In this role, you will ensure that SynerLeap is present in the right internal and external forums, connecting ABB teams with startups, innovation programs, and strategic opportunities. By creating engaging experiences and impactful communication, you will help accelerate open innovation and position ABB as a preferred partner for startups and innovation ecosystems.

The work model for this role is: Hybrid

As an Open Innovation Activation Specialist, you will:

• Strengthen SynerLeap's presence across ABB by building relationships with stakeholders, identifying key forums, and driving internal engagement activities aligned with business priorities.
• Increase SynerLeap's visibility in the external innovation ecosystem by coordinating participation in industry events, conferences, and innovation forums while ensuring a consistent and professional representation of ABB.
• Design, plan, and execute internal and external engagement activities such as startup challenges, workshops, showcases, and networking events that connect ABB with startups and innovation initiatives.
• Develop engaging communication and content for internal channels, social media, and digital platforms, highlighting success stories, partnerships, and innovation outcomes while ensuring consistent messaging.
• Collaborate closely with colleagues across Engagement, Scouting, Programs, and Commercialisation teams to align activities with business priorities and maximize the impact of ongoing initiatives.
• Monitor engagement activities and measure success through participation, stakeholder feedback, communication reach, and contribution to innovation programs and business opportunities.

Qualifications for the role

We are looking for a collaborative and proactive professional who enjoys bringing people, ideas, and opportunities together.

• Experience in communications, marketing, innovation, ecosystem development, events, or stakeholder engagement.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple activities simultaneously and deliver high-quality results.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills with experience creating engaging content for different audiences and channels.
• The ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively across functions, cultures, and organizational levels.
• A structured, self-driven, and solution-oriented mindset with a passion for innovation and continuous improvement.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
