Frontend Lead Engineer

As the Frontend Lead Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in guiding the frontend development of our cloud service, ensuring scalability, performance, and maintainability. You will collaborate closely with several teams, including design, PM/PO and engineering, to translate business requirements into frontend solutions. Your expertise in frontend technologies and architectural design for high-performing SaaS products will be instrumental in helping us stay ahead and have a competitive edge in the market.

What you'll do

• Continuously assess the state of our SaaS frontend to form well-founded opinions.
• Engage with PM/PO, engineering teams, the UX team and the CTO team to gather and understand feedback, needs and priorities.
• Create a vision, establish a plan, define steps and coach others to understand the benefits of what you suggest.
• Lead the design and implementation of a scalable, high-performing frontend architecture. This includes deep collaboration with architects, lead engineers and QA automation specialists, where you will also influence priorities.
• Establish best practices, and architectural guidelines to ensure consistency and maintainability of the frontend.
• Provide guidance to developers to ensure adherence to architectural standards and best practices.
• Stay updated on emerging frontend technologies, trends and best practices. Advocate for their adoption where applicable.
• Work closely with all engineering teams and their managers to integrate frontend components with backend services and APIs.

What you'll bring

• Proven experience as a frontend architect or lead frontend developer in an up-to-date technology-driven environment and high-performance systems.
• Extensive, in-depth experience in working with modern frontend frameworks, -libraries and other web technologies.
• Strong understanding of responsive web design principles.
• Experience in using state management libraries such as Redux or Vuex.
• Proficiency in frontend build tools and package managers such as Webpack, Babel, or npm.
• Hands-on development skills to demonstrate, contribute to and review our applications
• Strong communication- and interpersonal skills, as well as a teamwork preference.
