The Role:
We're seeking a Founding Engineer & Tech Lead who is not just looking for a job, but is passionate about building a company from the ground up. This role is for someone who is ready to roll up their sleeves and dive deep into coding, while also driving the vision and technical strategy. With a focus on hands-on development, you'll spend the majority of your time coding, alongside leading our engineering efforts. This position demands a unique blend of technical prowess, innovation, and leadership to execute our ambitious projects, working closely with the founders to propel our technology forward.
Key Responsibilities:

- Is willing to commit to being on-premise, understanding the value of collaboration and direct engagement with the team.
Joining Wingbits as the Head of Engineering means stepping into a world where innovation, speed, and flexibility are at the core of everything we do. This role is not just about leading; it's about doing, creating, and sometimes, improvising. Here's what we expect from you:
- Flexible Work, Results-Driven: At Wingbits, we offer the freedom to manage your own schedule, recognizing that innovation doesn't always fit within a 9-to-5 framework. What we care about are results and your ability to deliver on commitments. This means there will be times when exceeding the standard 40-hour workweek is necessary to meet our goals. If you're someone who measures success by outcomes and is willing to put in the extra effort when it counts, you'll thrive with us.
- Embrace the Chaos: Startups are inherently chaotic and unpredictable. You should thrive in this environment, remaining agile and proactive amidst the ever-changing landscape.
- Ownership and Initiative: Treat Wingbits as your own business. We expect you to take ownership of challenges, showing initiative to solve problems and contribute wherever necessary, regardless of whether it falls within your formal job description.
- Versatility: Be willing and eager to wear multiple hats. One day you might be deep in code, the next strategizing our next big move or jumping in to support customer engagement. Flexibility is key.

Wingbits, based in Stockholm, is an innovative startup revolutionizing flight tracking with blockchain technology. Funded initially by Antler in November, then also by Borderless Capital in December, our core mission is to globally aggregate flight data to develop advanced models, like delay prediction algorithms. This aims to bring a proactive edge to the traditionally reactive aviation sector. In 2022, flight delays cost the aviation industry a staggering $75 billion, not to mention the environmental toll. At Wingbits, we envision a world free of unexpected flight delays. From a business standpoint, we hit the ground running with revenue generation from our first month and have maintained an impressive organic growth rate of over 200% month-over-month since September 2023. With a comfortable runway ahead, we're gearing up for our next investment round in the first half of 2024. This will enable us to scale rapidly, expanding our team across development, commercial, marketing, and community management domains. Join us at Wingbits, where we're not just tracking flights - we're setting new standards in aviation efficiency and predictability.
