Join us asBusiness Unit Manager for Payroll & HR Servicesand take a leading role in shaping the future of our payroll operations in Sweden. This is an opportunity to lead a skilled team, drive service excellence, and support the commercial growth of our Swedish payroll business.
The Position
Reporting to the EMEA Head of Client Payroll Operations, you will lead a team of seven experienced payroll professionals. This role combines leadership and strategic direction with hands-on involvement in client payroll delivery.
You will own the business unit's performance by driving operational excellence, elevating the client experience, and contributing to the expansion of our payroll services in the Swedish market. You will build strong internal and external relationships, collaborate across Nordic and EMEA teams, and play an active role in shaping our long-term direction.
Your Responsibilities
- Oversee the end-to-end delivery of payroll services.
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of experienced payroll professionals.
- Continuously improve payroll workflows to increase efficiency and quality.
- Act as a trusted point of contact for clients and internal teams, providing clear guidance on payroll matters.
- Process and review client payrolls to ensure accuracy, compliance, and exceptional service.
- Own the business unit's revenue and growth targets, including planning and performance tracking.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand our payroll footprint in Sweden.
- Build and maintain a strong professional network to increase visibility and generate qualified leads.
- Strengthen relationships with key stakeholders, business partners, and vendors.
- Collaborate with Nordic and EMEA payroll teams on shared initiatives and projects.
Your Profile
- 7+ years of payroll experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership or senior specialist role, preferably in a multi-client or outsourced environment.
- A people-focused leadership style that builds trust, supports growth, and enables teams to perform at their best.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders.
- Deep and up-to-date expertise in Swedish payroll regulations, collective agreements, and end-to-end processes, with the ability to simplify complexity for others.
- A digital mindset and interest in modernising payroll through technology.
- Ability to lead change and support teams through company, process, and system transformations.
- Relevant education in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, HR, or a related field.
- Excellent communication skills in Swedish and English.
Additional Valuable Experience:
- Experience leading payroll-related projects involving process improvements, technology, or new ways of working.
- Experience with HogiaLön Plus or Flex HRM.
- Experience in adjacent areas such as pensions, insurance, other benefits, or global mobility.
