Assignment Description

We are looking for a Senior COBOL Developer

What You Will Work On

Develop and implement a POC for message-based integration with legacy banking systems

Ensure stable and accurate two-way communication in high-volume transaction environments

Design and build solutions using COBOL, JCL, CICS, and DB2

Participate in architecture and design discussions

Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and enhancements of existing systems

Conduct production analysis and support issue resolution

Execute unit testing and ensure overall solution quality

Contribute to automation and process optimization initiatives

Support modernization and migration efforts within the mainframe environment

Create clear technical documentation and knowledge-sharing materials

Mentor junior developers and contribute to requirement refinement (long-term)

What You Bring

Extensive experience in mainframe development

Strong hands-on experience with COBOL, JCL, CICS, and DB2

Proven experience with message-based integration in high-transaction environments

Experience working with VTR or similar messaging frameworks

Strong focus on reuse, simplification, and automation

Ability to work across both technical and business domains

Strong communication skills in Swedish (or Scandinavian language) and English

Experience working in agile environments with iterative delivery
