About the Opportunity

You will be part of a joint project involving Ericsson's Product Engineering Unit Silicon's and AI & Technology Foresight's teams researching, developing, and validating the latest state-of-the-art digital radio technologies ranging from lower physical layers through signal to the antenna. Concept development, design and validation is done in everything from our ground-breaking simulators and crude lab prototypes to end-to-end systems implemented in product-like prototypes. You will be working in one of the most experienced teams within this domain in the world.

We are now looking for two engineering students to join us for a for a master thesis project. The project's goal is to develop an AI-driven tool that efficiently partitions a complex integrated digital design across multiple hardware resources. In this work, you will use an existing RTL implementation of Ericsson's real-time radio signal processing functions and partition it into our FPGA-based state-of-the-art scalable digital development platform.

What You Will Do

  • Develop the implementation partitioning tool
  • Verify the developed tool on our FPGA-based digital development platform
  • Collaborate - The thesis work will be performed jointly by two students - two positions are available and you are welcome to apply alone or in a pair.

The Skills You Bring

  • Ongoing MSc studies in electrical engineering, telecommunications, physics, data science or similar
  • Knowledge in FPGA design & implementation (e.g. VHDL, Verilog)
  • Knowledge in generative AI
  • Experience of programming (e.g. python)
  • Interest in physical hardware and hands-on lab work
  • Solid communication and collaboration skills
  • Fluent in English
