Application / Software Development Specialist

Location:South Sweden - Karlshamn
Hours:Monday - Friday
Contract:Permanent

DP World Sweden is recruiting anApplication & Software Development Specialistto design, develop, and support business-critical applications within our local and global IT landscape. This role is ideal for a hands-on developer who enjoys working across multiple systems, databases, and integration methods to deliver robust, scalable solutions for an operational environment.

You will focus primarily onapplication development, system integrations, and database-driven solutions, working closely with local stakeholders and DP World's central IT organisation to ensure alignment with global standards.

How You Will Contribute

• Design, develop, and maintain custom applications and system solutions, with a strong focus on programming and automation
• Build and support solutions using multiple databases and data sources
• Develop and maintain system integrations using APIs, EDI, and other connection methods
• Enhance and adapt existing application landscapes (e.g. FileMaker, Microsoft-based systems, and other business applications)
• Troubleshoot, maintain, and improve application performance, reliability, and data flows
• Collaborate with DP World's central IT teams to manage approvals and ensure compliance with global frameworks
• Maintain clear technical documentation, data models, and integration specifications
• Actively contribute to continuous improvement through system optimisation, root-cause analysis, and enhancement initiatives

What You Will Bring

• Proven experience in application or software development, ideally within a business or operational environment
• Strong programming skills and experience working with multiple databases
• Hands-on experience with system integrations, including APIs, EDI, or similar technologies
• FileMaker experience is an advantage, but not essential
• Good understanding of application architecture, data flows, and system interoperability
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with global IT teams
• Fluent in English and Swedish
