Introduction
Thesis work is an excellent way to get closer to Traton and build relationships for the future. Many of today's employees began their Scania/Traton career with their degree project.

Background
Electrical steels are central to the performance of electric machines and transformers. While their temperature dependence is well studied, far less is known about how thermo-mechanical fatigue (TMF) the combined action of thermal cycling and mechanical stress, degrades magnetic performance. This is a critical gap, as real machines experience both effects simultaneously, leading to reduced efficiency and premature failure.

Objective
This thesis aims to investigate how TMF affects the magnetic properties of electrical steels and to develop predictive models of this degradation. By performing checkpointed magnetic measurements under thermal and mechanical loading, the project seeks to identify early magnetic signatures of fatigue damage. The resulting models will link temperature and fatigue history to magnetic performance and will be validated on real stator cores for practical relevance.
