Role: Technology Architect - End User Computing (VDI / AVD / Azure)

Location: Sweden,Gothenburg

Technology/Experience Required: 10+ years of IT experience with strong specialization in Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), and Azure platform architecture.

Job Description

As a Technology Architect - EUC / AVD, the primary responsibility is to design, architect, and govern secure, scalable, and resilient virtual desktop solutions using Azure Virtual Desktop and Azure services.

Key Responsibilities

Solution Architecture & Design

Design end-to-end Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) architectures for enterprise workloads.

Define VDI personas and design patterns for:

Pooled and personal desktops

Session host sizing and scaling

Application delivery (MSIX/App Attach, FSLogix)

Create high-availability and disaster recovery architectures for AVD environments.

Azure Platform Architecture

Architect and govern Azure resources including:

Virtual Networks, Subnets, NSGs, Azure Firewall

Storage Accounts, Azure Files, Azure NetApp Files

VM Scale Sets and automation components

Ensure alignment with Azure Well-Architected Framework principles:

Security

Reliability

Performance efficiency

Cost optimization

Identity & Access Management

Design and integrate Azure Entra ID (Azure AD) authentication for AVD.

Architect:

Conditional Access policies

MFA enforcement

Role-based access control (RBAC)

Support hybrid identity scenarios with Entra Connect / cloud-only identity.

DevOps & Automation

Enable Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for AVD and Azure deployments.

Use Git for version control and collaboration.

Define DevOps pipelines using:

Azure DevOps / GitHub

CI/CD practices for environment provisioning

Promote automation using:

ARM/Bicep/Terraform

PowerShell and Azure CLI

Governance, Security & Compliance

Define Azure governance models:

Management groups

Azure policies

Tagging and cost controls

Ensure security-first designs, including:

Network isolation

Zero Trust principles

Secure access to desktops and applications

Align architecture with enterprise compliance standards.

Technical Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement

Act as technology authority for VDI / AVD solutions.

Conduct:

Architecture reviews

Design walkthroughs

Technical risk assessments

Mentor senior consultants and engineers.

Collaborate with:

Customers

Service Owners

Cloud, network, and security teams

Operational Readiness & Optimization

Review and optimize:

Performance and user experience

Cost models and consumption patterns

Provide guidance on monitoring, logging, and troubleshooting strategies.

Support transition from build to run teams.

Experience

• 10+ years of overall IT experience.

• Strong hands‑on experience with VDI technologies, with deep expertise in Azure Virtual Desktop.

• Proven experience architecting and delivering enterprise‑scale Azure solutions.

• Experience working in customer‑facing consulting or large managed service environments.

Technical Skills

• Expert‑level skills in:

Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) design and implementation

Azure networking and compute services

• Strong experience with:

Azure Entra ID

FSLogix profiles and storage design

Automation and DevOps practices

• Proficiency with:

Git

Azure DevOps / GitHub

PowerShell scripting

• Good understanding of:

Windows VDI performance tuning

Cost optimization strategies in Azure

Qualifications & Certifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

• Preferred certifications:

o Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert

o Microsoft Certified: Azure Virtual Desktop Specialty (or equivalent experience)

o Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator Associate

o AZ-104 / AZ-305 (preferred)

• ITIL Foundation (added advantage)
