This is the job

In Malmö within the digital mapping and geospatial technology industry, we are actively seeking a professional to strengthen our team dedicated to building developer products and APIs across a modern web platform.

In this role, you will contribute to the development of tools and APIs that power mapping experiences across multiple platforms, including web, native, and Android. You will take new features from ideation through design and implementation, all the way to launch, while partnering directly with clients to build impactful mapping solutions.

This is you

• 6+ years of hands-on software engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in modern object-oriented programming with JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Ability to explain complex problems clearly and succinctly.
• Passion for collaboration and iterating on ideas within a cross-functional team.
• Strong understanding of software design and architecture.
• Experience developing reusable components used by several different clients.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Docker.

Nice-to-have skills:

• API design and experience building public APIs.
• Rendering experience with Computer Graphics APIs such as OpenGL, Metal, or WebGL.
• Technical writing skills, including contributing to or authoring developer documentation.
• Functional programming experience.

This is your role

• Elicit requirements from clients and translate them into scalable, reliable code.
• Lead TypeScript migration and modernization of existing JavaScript APIs.
• Design APIs that enable developers inside and outside the organization to build mapping features into their applications.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Human Interface Design, Services, and other Engineering and Data teams.
• Develop, launch, and maintain cross-platform features that integrate mapping capabilities into a wider ecosystem.
• Work closely with QA, including developing and maintaining test tools and test cases where needed.
