// ABOUT THE POSITION

Location: Helsingborg, Sweden

Company: Alvier Mechatronics AB

Are you passionate about advanced simulation, structural mechanics, and the development of next-generation electromagnetic systems? Do you want to work at the forefront of digital twin technology, supporting global customers and contributing to the future of electric machines?

Alvier Mechatronics AB is growing, and we are now looking for a Senior Application Specialist within System Simulation, with a specialization in structural mechanics, to join our multidisciplinary design and simulation team.

About the Role

As a Senior Application Specialist, you will play a key role in the design and simulation of thermo-mechanically optimized concepts for electric machines using traditional Laminated Steel Sheet (LSS) as well as Soft Magnetic Composite (SMC) technology.

Your work will be central in developing digital twins for decision-making, prototype validation, and next-generation product innovation. You will act as a technical expert both internally and externally, collaborating closely with simulation software providers and supporting global customer projects.

What you will do

• Lead design and simulation activities for electric machine concepts with focus on structural mechanics, stresses, deformation, and thermal dependencies.

• Conduct complex 2D/3D FE studies and propose improved simulation workflows.

• Develop tools, work methods, and equipment for robust design and validation processes.

• Serve as the technical interface between Alvier Mechatronics and simulation software partners.

• Participate in prototype validation activities in collaboration with the Prototyping & Validation team.

• Support the development of new SMC materials through simulation-driven performance targets.

• Guide and mentor junior colleagues in technical development.

• Lead and support customer and end-user projects worldwide.

• Present research, innovations, and application concepts at conferences, exhibitions, and in publications.

• Secure innovation through patents where applicable.

• Collaborate with Höganäs material teams to ensure accurate material models.

• Contribute to market material and university collaborations.

You will work in a modern and flexible environment, combining office, home office, and laboratory settings. You'll be part of a dynamic global organization with close ties to product development, sales, universities, and industrial partners.

What You Bring

Essential

• PhD (or equivalent experience) in a relevant field such as structural mechanics, mechanical engineering, applied physics, or similar.

• 5+ years of experience in advanced design and structural simulation.

• Proficiency in tools such as ANSYS Mechanical or equivalent.

• Strong communication skills in English (written and spoken).

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in multi-physical and multi-cultural teams.

• A proactive mindset and a desire to expand your technical horizon.

• Customer-focused attitude and willingness to participate in global projects.

• Readiness to travel internationally (up to 30 days/year).

Desirable

• Additional knowledge in different electric machine concept designs including other aspect e.g. rotor dynamics, NVH, transient thermal as well as CFD.

Does the position sound interesting? Please submit your application no later than May 4, 2026. We review applications on an ongoing basis and may fill the position before the final application deadline.
