The Department of Surgery at the Institute of Clinical Sciences invites applications for a researcher in cancer research. The research group has a strong desire to translate basic research findings into new treatment principles for rectal cancer.
Duties
The position is linked to a research project focused on predicting treatment response prior to radiotherapy and chemotherapy for rectal cancer. The work tasks include immunohistochemistry, gene expression analyses, and the culture of primary cells and organoids. Experience in organoid culture and treatment with various chemotherapeutic agents, as well as interpretation of gene expression analyses, is required.
Qualifications
A PhD in medical science is required for the position. Documented expertise in cell culture, immunohistochemistry, and gene expression analysis is highly meritorious. Experience in organoid culture is a requirement. Experience in supervision and teaching is considered an advantage. The successful candidate is expected to be able to work both independently and as part of a team, as the position requires close collaboration with colleagues. Consideration will also be given to personal initiative, organizational skills, accuracy, and independence. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
Employment
The employment is limited (temporary) for 11 months, 100% of full-time and is placed at the Institute of Clinical Sciences, Department of Surgery. Starting date: as soon as possible
