The opportunity

As R&D Team Leader for Transformer Components and Services, Bushings Team, you will lead a team of talented R&D engineers in Ludvika, Sweden, who develop next generation technologies and products for Transformer Bushings portfolio. You will be supported by a global R&D community including regional R&D teams and Research Centers worldwide.

How you'll make an impact

Team Coordination: Manage your team to successfully execute and hand over R&D projects within the given budget, time and scope as defined by Technology Managers and Global Product Manager

Technical and Project Execution Guidance: Distribute work tasks, support the team and the project managers to drive the projects and develop efficient work processes to increase productivity

Innovation Encouragement: Encourage and support the team to challenge existing technology, propose projects and processes contributing to the global plans and development roadmaps

Line management: Oversee the professional development and management of team members, ensure that the team is equipped with the required competencies

Project follow-up: Prepare the annual budget and follow-up on the execution

Project reporting: Ensure prompt and regular reporting on the projects' status and take proactive action in case of any deviation from the agreed baseline

Global collaboration: Collaborate directly with other R&D teams, different Hitachi Research Centers, receiving factories and engineering teams around the world. Expand co-creation with universities and third parties

Your background

Master's degree in engineering or applied sciences

More than 5 years' working experience, preferably in the energy industry

Bushing's technology and manufacturing knowledge, as well as hands-on experience of larger and multi-year projects will be considered a plus

Skilled at managing diverse people, with the ability to coach, motivate, and inspire others

Excellent communication, coaching and conflict resolution skills

Ability to analyze processes and information, identify problems and trends, and develop effective solutions and strategies

Exhibits creativity and "out-of-the-box" thinking, with great attention to detail and a proactive approach to challenging existing methodologies

Fluency in English is required. Knowledge in Swedish is a benefit.
