We are now looking for an experienced professional with industry competence within the food industry, to join our team in Sweden and contribute directly to strengthening Sweden's position as an attractive destination for investments in the food and Agtech sector, in line withSweden's Food Strategy 2.0.
You will report to the Head of Materials & Industrials, and lead or be part of projects across the organization globally at Business Sweden. You will also build strategic collaborations with external stakeholders and represent Business Sweden both in Sweden and abroad. The position will be based in one of Business Sweden's offices in Sweden, preferably Stockholm, Malmö or Gothenburg, based on dialogue with the candidate. We apply probationary employment in all applicable positions.
You will work closely together with your colleagues across Sweden and globally and the position will require occasional travelling in Sweden and abroad.
Your role will mainly involve, but will not be limited to:
Invest promotion and facilitation
- Develop and drive investment promotion initiatives aligned with Sweden's Food Strategy 2.0, focusing on attracting and facilitating foreign direct investment in the food and agtech sector.
- Lead, manage and monitor multiple invest cases simultaneously, delivering insights and structured decision-making materials for investors on time, within scope and budget
- Act as a primary advisor to foreign investors, guiding them through Sweden's investment landscape, including industry stakeholders, regional partners, authorities, and clusters.
- Manage multiple investment cases in parallel, delivering structured analyses, insights, and decision-making material within agreed scope and timelines.
- Coordinate national and regional investment activities with regions, public authorities, clusters, and ecosystem partners to enable successful establishment and expansion.
- Develop and communicate sector-specific value propositions and strategic insights, positioning Sweden as a competitive, innovative, and sustainable destination for food investments.
Project and Team Leadership
- Manage complex projects end-to-end, ensuring delivery is on time, within scope and aligned with Business Sweden strategy
- Mentor and guide junior colleagues, providing leadership and fostering a culture of continuous improvement
- Ensure all projects comply with company policies, procedures, and industry best practices
- Core competencies and collaborative skills
- Self-motivated with a strong ability to take an idea from inception to global success, demonstrating adaptability and problem-solving skills to efficiently manage and resolve challenges throughout the project lifecycle
- Provide support and take ownership to ensure high quality delivery on time
- An excellent problem solver who easily adapts to new challenges and ways of working
- Extensive experience navigating environments with many different stakeholders and are able building trust, coordinating efforts and driving joint results forward
- Team player who collaborates effectively to achieve good results with a positive can-do attitude
- Exceptional presentation skills, with the ability to confidently engage and inspire both in client meeting rooms and on stage in front of large audiences
- A higher academic degree preferably with international focus (Master of Science or equivalent)
- Strong competence, experience and preferably a network within the food or agri-food sector - to be a trustworthy advisor to companies and stakeholders
- A minimum of at least 6 years' experience of project management, business development, international business, or consultancy
- Proven project management skills and experience in a multi-market context
- Proven track record of closing sales and having reached or exceeded sales targets
- A high level of proficiency in written and spoken English and Swedish is required
- Understanding of the commercial conditions, value chains, and challenges within the food industry.
