We are seeking a curious and highly driven Master student to join Atlas Copco Industrial Technique and help us pioneer the future of manufacturing through intelligent, agent-based systems. This thesis project focuses on designing and prototyping sophisticated AI agents capable of automatically and reliably transforming complex legacy codebases into modern, high-performance solutions.

Your central mission will be to create an AI agent capable of solving a highly specific, complex coding task at scale: the automated conversion of intricate Microsoft SQL Database stored procedures into a modern, optimized solution using technologies like in-memory DB or an open-source database such as PostgreSQL. Specifically, your thesis tasks will involve:

• Explore state-of-the-art agentic methods for solving complex coding tasks with high reliability.
• Prototype AI agent powered by the latest large language models (LLMs).
• Develop robust validation and benchmarking techniques to assess system performance and reliability.

To succeed, you will need

• You are a master student within Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field.
• You have good knowledge of Python and database technology.
