Background

At New Business Audio, we specialize in developing IP Audio devices and an advanced audio distribution system that allows for synchronized playback across multiple speakers. Currently, users must manually create and assign devices to specific groups, such as configuring devices A, B, and C into "The Kitchen" group, and devices X, Y, and Z into "The Warehouse" group. We would like to explore the use of BLE signal technology to simplify this setup by automatically grouping devices in close proximity.

Goal

Investigate the feasibility of integrating BLE signal technology with our existing IP Audio devices, which currently do not have Bluetooth capabilities. Key questions could be, but not limited to:

• What are the technical challenges and potential solutions for integrating BLE signal technology into our existing IP Audio devices that currently lack Bluetooth capabilities?
• How can we design a prototype that effectively demonstrates the automatic grouping of devices in close proximity using BLE signals?

Educational background & Useful skills

Master's student in computer science engineering or similar. Experience with development on Linux, C, embedded systems.
