The role

The Director of IT Operations is a senior leadership role responsible for all aspects and strategic planning surrounding our enterprise networks and IT infrastructure that meets the needs of the business operations. This includes ComeOn's infrastructure portfolio, ownership of the infrastructure solution strategy and roadmaps. The Director is, most importantly, a proactive leader who leads a team of experts and can mentor young talent, whilst ensuring that the business can scale without interruptions. This role acts as the bridge between technical excellence and business velocity. The candidate is expected to transform a group of subject matter experts into a high-performance leadership engine, ensuring that as ComeOn scales, our infrastructure remains an invincible yet invisible backbone. This strategic role reporting to the CIO is also in charge of evaluating and recommending long-term technology strategies and solutions efficiently and reliably.
Your Responsibilities
Strategic Planning and Execution

  • Develop and implement the infrastructure strategy, in close partnership with the Information Security team, in line with the company's objectives.
  • Ensure the infrastructure supports current and future business requirements.
  • Oversee the design and implementation of IT systems, network infrastructure, DBA and data centres.
  • Identify opportunities to drive continuous improvement
Team Leadership and Development
  • You are a strong leader who mentors and upskills teams and leaders reporting to you.
  • You will lead the team into a winning culture of efficiency, goal focus and internal customer service.
  • Experience in managing and evolving legacy leadership mindsets, transitioning subject matter experts into scalable people leaders, and driving accountability.
  • You will conduct performance reviews and provide professional development opportunities and coach the leaders reporting to you on how to lead teams at scale.
Operations and Maintenance
  • Ensure high availability, reliability, and performance of all IT systems and infrastructure.
  • Drive a culture of Automation First, reducing dependency on individuals and manual interventions.
  • Oversee routine maintenance, upgrades, and troubleshooting of infrastructure components.
  • Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans and data backup procedures.
Budgeting
  • Develop and manage the IT and Infrastructure budget ensuring cost-effectiveness whilst maintaining the uptime targets.
  • Negotiate contracts and manage relationships with external vendors and service providers.
Project Management
  • Lead it & infrastructure projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timely delivery within scope and budget.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of new technologies and systems.
  • Track project progress, manage risks, and report on project status to the executive team.


Your Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; Master's preferred.
  • 10+ years in IT infrastructure and operations, with 5+ years in leadership leading managers with their own teams.
  • Experience in leading 24/7/365 mission-critical IT operations, ensuring business continuity in high availability environments for global business operations. (SLA 99,99% uptime)
  • Proven track record of collaborating with a PMO to deliver complex, cross-functional projects on time while managing technical debt.
  • Experience with compliance standards (e.g., ISO27001).
  • Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, cloud computing, DBA and security.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills where you have successfully led other leaders.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
