Job Description:Senior Cloud Data Engineer
Role purpose
The Senior Cloud Data Engineer designs, builds, and optimizes cloud native platforms and data solutions that power the organization's most critical workloads. This role blends deep cloud engineering expertise with strong data management capabilities and hands on experience building agentic workflows-autonomous or semiautonomous systems that orchestrate complex tasks across cloud and data environments.
This person is a proactive, future oriented engineer who leans into ambiguity, experiments with emerging technologies, and drives modernization across the stack. This role will directly interface with clients, third-party and other teams.
Key Accountabilities
The Senior Cloud Data Engineer role is a senior position focused on enhancing current data operations - reporting, visualization, integration and enablement.
Cloud Engineering & Development
- Architect, build, and maintain cloud native services across compute, storage, networking, and serverless components.
- Develop automation and infrastructure as code to ensure scalable, reliable, and repeatable deployments.
- Implement observability, performance tuning, and cost optimization strategies across cloud workloads.
- Build agent enabled automation patterns that enhance cloud operations, resilience, and efficiency.
Agentic Workflow Development & Orchestration
- Design and implement agentic workflows that automate multistep processes across cloud, data, and application layers.
- Integrate autonomous or semiautonomous agents into pipelines, operational systems, and developer tooling.
- Ensure agent behavior is safe, observable, auditable, and aligned with governance and security standards.
- Continuously evaluate emerging agentic frameworks, orchestration patterns, and LLM driven automation capabilities.
Data Engineering & Management
- Build and maintain scalable data pipelines, ingestion frameworks, and transformation workflows.
- Apply agentic patterns to data quality checks, metadata enrichment, anomaly detection, and lifecycle management.
- Ensure data governance, lineage, privacy, and compliance across systems.
- Partner with data scientists, analysts, and product teams to deliver accessible, high quality data.
Strategic & Forward Thinking Contribution
- Together with Data & Technology Director, Identify opportunities to modernize platforms, reduce technical debt, and introduce new cloud, data, and AI capabilities.
- Explore and champion responsible use of agentic systems to accelerate development and operations.
- Lean into ambiguous problem spaces, shaping solutions and influencing long term architecture.
- Act as a thought partner to engineering and product leadership on cloud, data, and AI strategy.
Qualifications needed
- Strong proficiency with at least one major cloud platform (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
- Experience with cloud native development: serverless, containers, microservices, event driven architectures.
- Handson experience building agentic workflows or multiagent systems using modern AI frameworks.
- Proficiency with data engineering tools (e.g. Databricks)
- Strong SQL skills and proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, Java, Go, etc.).
- Familiarity with IaC tools (Terraform, Bicep, CloudFormation).
- Understanding of data modeling, metadata management, and data governance.
- Proactive, self starting, and comfortable driving initiatives without waiting for direction.
- Strong problem solving mindset with the ability to navigate complexity and ambiguity.
- Collaborative communicator who builds relationships across engineering, product, and data teams.
- Curious, experimental, and eager to explore emerging technologies-especially in cloud, data, and AI automation.
- Experience from AdTech platforms such as Google Ads, DV360, Google Analytics, etc, is a plus
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with team members on projects, both in Swedish and English
