Global Product Group Manager, Traction

Your role and responsibilities
We are looking for an energetic and forward‑thinking Business Manager to lead our Traction motor business in Västerås. In this key leadership role, you will take full ownership of a local business, driving both strategy and execution together with a dedicated management team.
You will oversee the entire value chain from operations and portfolio to commercial performance ensuring profitable and sustainable growth. Our unit is small, collaborative, and co‑located under one roof, bringing together office and production roles in a close‑knit environment. This means the role requires a hands‑on leadership style and a strong local presence to stay close to people, operations, and daily decision‑making.
You will report to the Global Product Line Manager and work closely with peers in China and India.
Your role and Responsibilities
- Lead the local business with full P&L responsibility, delivering profitable growth and executing the global strategy.
- Strengthen manufacturing capabilities and technology to meet future market needs.
- Drive commercial performance by implementing effective processes, tools, and ways of working.
- Build and develop a strong, engaged team and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Lead the local management team, which includes the functions of Quality, Sales Operations, Project Management, Supply Chain and Engineering, ensuring alignment, collaboration, and high performance across the unit.
- Act as a visible, hands‑on leader in a small, co‑located organization where teamwork, accessibility, and daily presence are essential.
Qualifications for the role
- You are engaged, curious, and skilled in tools and methodologies relevant to the railway and off‑highway motor market.
- 5+ years of business leadership experience in an operational environment, supported by solid work experience. Experience from a similar role is not required but considered a strong advantage.
- Strong knowledge of LEAN, operations management, and leading high‑performing teams.
- A genuine passion for people leadership, development, and continuous improvement.
- A degree in Engineering or equivalent, with a proven track record of running operations or managing a business successfully.
- Strong communication skills in Swedish and English.
- Any required licenses, certifications, or work permits valid for the role and location.
