The Business Analyst role serves as an innovative and collaborative business partner between multiple business stakeholders and IT to define and identify processes and process improvement opportunities. This individual will ensure that business needs are being met in an effective and efficient manner and works closely with leadership to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions. The individual must apply creative thinking, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help maximize the benefit of our IT systems investments. This position will document stakeholder requirements, measure/monitor process efficiency, and develop and manage projects. They will coordinate implementation, testing, training, and communication efforts between IT and multiple business groups. This is a business-facing and technology-facing role, requiring excellent communication and organizational skills to create alignment amongst multiple sponsors. The Business Analyst will:- Partner effectively with business stakeholders and subject matter experts in a collaborative manner, building constructive and effective relationships thus ensuring that business processes are understood, documented, and fit the needs of the organization.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts and Product teams in the planning, design, and development of new and/or existing IT solutions.
- Lead Discovery/Innovation Sessions to identify opportunities that delight customers and/or internal users and enhance operational effectiveness in a meaningful way.
- Map processes from current to future state, define business and tech requirements and scope, and proactively champion change to business stakeholders and development teams.
- Execute assigned projects in accordance with PMI standards enabling successful business outcomes.
- Produce high quality documentation for requirements, solution options, business cases, and recommendations on proposed solutions.
- Participate as a change agent to implement new strategic directions and technology decisions.
- Support Product teams in translating business requirements to detailed stories/tasks for development teams to deliver business functionality.
- Assist business stakeholders with testing of system changes and analyze data flows for process improvement opportunities.
- Partner with Product Owner on product vision, requirements definition, and capability mapping to ensure requirements align with business unit processes and needs.
- Skilled in writing user stories with acceptance criteria and actively contributing to planning and agile ceremonies.
- Experienced in eliciting, documenting, and validating business requirements and user stories.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills for interacting with executives, managers, IT professionals, and subject matter experts.
- Strong ability to drive organizational change and make a meaningful impact.
- Proven experience facilitating requirement workshops and training sessions with large groups of business users and leadership.
- Ability to convert stakeholder requirements into clear technical specifications and simplify technical complexities for business units and end users.
- Skilled in process mapping, group facilitation, data gathering, and analysis.
- Familiar with all phases of the project lifecycle-requirements gathering, design, development, deployment, training, and measuring effectiveness.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Ability to work effectively under time constraints and shifting priorities.
- Proficient in assessing and recommending new system solutions based on cost/benefit analysis.
- Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of related work experience is preferred.
- CBAP certification is a plus.
- Experience in Salesforce, Certinia Billing Central is a plus.
- Experience in Telco business is a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Including Visio, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
