Associations Coordinator (50%) at Jönköping Student Union

Do you want to work closely with students and contribute to a vibrant and engaging student association life? We are now looking for a structured and relationship-oriented Associations Coordinator to support and develop our sub-organisations.

As an Associations Coordinator, you act as the link between Jönköping Student Union (JSU) and our around 60 sub-organisations. You will work closely with engaged students and support them in both administrative and operational matters. The role is central to creating structure, clarity, and strong collaboration within the organisation.

These sub-organisations cover a wide range of activities, including sports, entertainment, gaming, social events, and other initiatives that enrich student life.

The position is part-time (50%) and begins with a six-month probationary period.

Responsibilities

• Support sub-organisations in administrative processes and JSU services

• Educate and guide in documentation and organisational structure

• Act as the main point of contact between sub-organisations and JSU

• Inform students about engagement opportunities within student association life

• Develop and maintain support materials, structures, and systems

• Support marketing, communication, and event coordination

• Assist in transitions and handovers within associations

• Provide support to employees and engaged members within your areas of responsibility

We are looking for someone who:

Has completed upper secondary education (high school diploma)

Higher education in areas such as administration, communication, or association/sports-related fields is considered a merit

Has strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills

Is structured, detail-oriented, and administratively strong

Has experience from student life, associations, or non-profit organisations

Is self-driven and takes initiative

Has strong organisational and coordination skills

Is communicative and comfortable working with diverse groups

Has a service-oriented and solution-focused mindset

Thrives in managing multiple tasks simultaneously

Is able to commit to the role on a consistent part-time basis during daytime working hours

Requirements

Fluency in English, both spoken and written, as English is the official working language within Jönköping Student Union and the role involves interaction with international students

Merits

Knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written

B driver's license is considered a merit, as the role may involve occasional travel

About the Position

Position: 50%, primarily during regular daytime working hours, with some flexibility depending on activities

Start date: According to agreement

Salary: According to agreement

Employment type: 6-month probationary period, with the possibility of permanent employment

Location: Jönköping, Gjuterigatan 3c

About JSU

Jönköping Student Union (JSU) is a non-profit organisation run by elected student representatives. Alongside this, the organisation is supported by a professional office and a team of engaged students.

JSU represents students at Jönköping University and works actively with:

Educational quality monitoring

Student welfare and wellbeing

Integration and student life

Housing-related matters

Student services

JSU also operates the student café RIO and the nightclub Akademien, which are central parts of student life in Jönköping.

JSU is a dynamic and student-driven organisation where engagement, collaboration, and development are at the core of everything we do.

At JSU, you will be part of a close-knit team consisting of:

Approximately eight employees working at the office and within the student café RIO

Seven remunerated student representatives, who have either completed their studies or are taking a study break

Ten JSU Board members (student representatives), with whom you will have ongoing contact when relevant

In addition, the organisation works closely with a large number of students who are engaged on a voluntary basis in associations and activities.
