Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your hands-on testing expertise in a cutting-edge field. You'll work alongside a collaborative and innovative team of professionals.

You'll play a key role in testing complete electric drive systems, primarily for trains, as part of the Powerlab team in Västerås. Day-to-day, you'll work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure project success, prepare and execute test procedures, and contribute to the validation of traction systems and components.

You'll specifically take care of performing validating system tests and type tests for both internal and external customers, but also contribute to the development of test methodologies and troubleshooting during ongoing tests.

We'll look to you for:
  • Carrying out type, validation, and investigation tests on traction systems and components
  • Preparing and writing test procedures and test reports
  • Defining and implementing appropriate test methodologies and selecting test equipment
  • Reviewing and contributing to the planning of validation activities
  • Establishing and maintaining validation plans and progress reports
  • Setting up and integrating mechanical and electrical systems in preparation for testing
  • Troubleshooting and solving problems during ongoing tests


All about you

  • At least a two-year education in electrical power engineering, or a three-year university degree in electrical power engineering or equivalent
  • Preferably experience in testing electrical systems, particularly traction systems for trains
  • Strong practical skills in mechanical integration and good practical electrical skills
  • Good knowledge of troubleshooting electrical systems and, preferably, experience in troubleshooting software (e.g., following software signals and interpreting log signals)
  • Practical experience with measurement systems and data acquisition programs
  • Strong communication skills in both speech and writing, primarily in English
  • Ability to work independently, with a high work ethic and strong team collaboration skills
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in office programs
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical circuit diagrams
