Over 40% of the world's mobile traffic is carried through an Ericsson network. Ericsson is the recognized technology leader in bringing to market the 5th generation (5G) of Radio Access Networks (RAN) and Mobile Core Networks. The foundation for 5G use cases is built through an agile cloud environment distributed throughout the network coverage area.
Software Defined Infrastructure (SDI) is the automated equipment management component that enables an agile private cloud, and our team owns the system and software architecture that makes this happen. We are recruiting a security-focused engineer to take responsibility for product security during software development activities for the SDI3 product. You will manage risks, support audits and certifications, ensure compliance, document the product's security and data privacy posture, conduct system studies, and contribute to security-related features. You will also represent SDI3 security internally and with customer support and pre-sales teams, providing clear, actionable analyses of the product's security posture.
What you will do:
- Own and drive the security posture of the SDI3 product across the software development lifecycle
- Manage security and privacy risks and support audits for secure development certifications
- Ensure compliance with internal requirements, industry standards, and applicable regulations
- Document the product's security and data privacy posture in line with Ericsson ways of working
- Perform security-focused analyses, including threat modeling and risk assessments
- Contribute to the design and development of security features for SDI3
- Embed security-by-design and security-by-default principles with development teams
- Coordinate vulnerability management, including identification, assessment, and remediation
- Represent SDI3 in security discussions with internal stakeholders, customer support, and pre-sales
- Provide clear security posture analyses in response to customer and market requirements
- Promote best practices and foster a strong security culture across the organization
- Act as a subject-matter expert on standards, tools, and secure development practices
The skills you bring:
- MSc in Cybersecurity or Security Management, or a degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, or related field with relevant secure development experience
- 10+ years in cybersecurity roles, including 5+ years partnering with software development teams
- Deep knowledge of cybersecurity and risk assessment, including vulnerability assessment and preferably penetration testing for applications and network infrastructure
- Strong knowledge of software/system security standards and regulations (e.g., 3GPP/NESAS) and technologies such as TLS, SSH, LDAP, and security testing tools
- Ability to engage and influence diverse technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex security topics to non-specialists
- Preferred certifications: CISSP, CISM
