Join Ericsson Financial Services as a Software Architect!
Are you an experienced software architect with a passion for building scalable, secure platforms and shaping the future of financial services? Ericsson Financial Services is expanding our Software Architect team supporting the Ericsson Wallet Platform. This is a chance to influence a global-scale product used by hundreds of millions of users, work with highly experienced peers, and deliver solutions that matter to customers and partners worldwide.
• Team size and composition: You will join a tight team of 9 highly experienced Java architects responsible for the Wallet Platform's architecture and code structure.
• Objectives: Ensure a scalable, secure, and maintainable platform that enables fast, reliable feature delivery and supports Ericsson's market expansion in FinTech.
• Culture: Collaborative, ownership-driven, pragmatic decision making with strong emphasis on mentorship, knowledge sharing and high customer focus.
• Business problems you will help solve: reduce technical debt, improve integration flexibility, strengthen platform stability and security, and accelerate delivery of new features to market.
What you will do
• Lead the architecture and design of new features across the Wallet Platform
• Develop scalable, reliable and secure distributed systems and microservices
• Collaborate with product, design, QA and operations to deliver end-to-end solutions
• Provide technical guidance through code reviews, design reviews and mentoring
• Make pragmatic architecture decisions that balance long-term quality with delivery needs
• Promote secure-by-design practices and ensure compliance with relevant security and regulatory requirements
You will bring
• 10+ years of software development experience with roles in system/software architecture or senior technical leadership
• Expert Java knowledge and hands-on experience with modern Java-based systems
• Proven experience designing distributed systems and microservices at scale
• Strong understanding of security principles and experience building high-security systems (financial or telecom/enterprise domains preferred)
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent
• Familiarity with cloud-native patterns, Kubernetes, event-driven architectures, API design and integration patterns
• Prior mentoring and coaching experience and a strong ownership mindset
• Pragmatic decision-making ability and customer-focused attitude
