Are you ready to take on a key leadership role within a motivated and highly skilled team? Do you have proven experience as a technical lead in major infrastructure projects, with a background in environmental science, ecology or biology? Are you passionate about guiding teams and managing projects to deliver excellence? If so, we want to hear from you!
About the Role
To support our expanding portfolio of large-scale infrastructure projects, we are seeking an experienced technical lead with deep expertise in biodiversity and ecology. Join our team of specialists collaborating on some of Sweden's most significant initiatives in industrial green transition and infrastructure development.
Major ongoing projects include a part of the new railway line between Gothenburg and Borås, and the planning for more than 460 kilometers of new double high voltage power line in the Karlstadbenet project. We are currently investigating the biodiversity values in the area, and will be working on the project for ten years!
Your key responsibilities will be
- Take technical responsibility for biodiversity and ecological disciplines within complex infrastructure projects.
- Lead cross-functional teams, managing both project delivery and team development to ensure high quality and efficiency.
- Oversee ecological field inventories, impact and nature value assessments, and provide expert input to regulatory permitting and planning processes.
- Drive collaboration and communication between clients, colleagues, and Swedish authorities.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and meet all regulatory and environmental standards.
Qualifications
We are looking for a candidate who thrives in leadership and technical roles, with a hands-on approach to managing projects and people. Ideally, you have:
- Relevant higher education in environmental science, biology, ecology, or related fields.
- Significant experience (5-10 years) as a project manager or technical lead in larger projects within environment and infrastructure/energy. This is the most critical part of the competence - the ability to organize, develop schedules, lead the work, and maintain structure.
- At least 5 years' experience working as a consultant, with a total professional background in environment/nature exceeding 10 years.
- Proven experience in environmental permitting and nature conservation, including species protection regulations and permitting/exemptions within protected areas, such as Natura 2000 sites.
- Proven leadership experience managing multidisciplinary teams and delivering complex projects.
- Familiarity with Swedish ecological and environmental regulations and assessments.
- Experience with NVI (natural value inventories), fieldwork, and specific species knowledge is considered a plus but not mandatory.
- Excellent communication skills in Swedish and English, both written and spoken.
- Valid driver's license (class B).
